Zum Problem der Verkalkung des Skelettsystems

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über eine Substanz berichtet, die eng mit dem Verkalkungsgeschehen korreliert ist. Mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit handelt es sich hierbei um Polyphosphate. Die Substanz ist in den normalen Zellen der Knorpelproliferationszone vorhanden. Bei Rachitis sind die Zellen an dieser Substanz verarmt. Nach Gabe von Vitamin D tritt die Substanz wieder auf. Durch Vitamin D kann die Bildung dieser Substanz in Hühnerfibroblastenkulturen induziert werden. Die sich hieraus ergebenden Fragen werden diskutiert.
