Zusammenfassung

Japp undFindley 1 erhielten durch Reaktion von Benzilsäure mit Benzonitril in konz. Schwefelsäure eine Verbindung C21H15NO2, für welche sie die Struktur eines 2,5,5-Triphenyloxazolons-(4) (I) annahmen. Eine Überprüfung dieser Arbeit ergab jedoch, daß der Verbindung nicht Formel (I), sondern Formel (II) [(2,4,4-Triphenyloxazolon-(5)] zugeordnet werden müsse.
