The action of butyllithium and butylmag nesium bromide on trans-epoxycyclododecane

Summary

Using epoxycyclododecane and epoxycyclododeca-5,9-diene as examples, it has been found that α-epoxides undergo isomerization to unsaturated alcohols under the action of organolithium and -magnesium compounds.
