Effect of clomiphene on the restoration of ovulation in androgen-sterile rats

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    In androgen-sterile rats given 10–250 μ TP in the early postnatal perid, upon sexual maturation there was a decrease in hypothalamic LH-RF, in hypophyseal and blood LH, in ovarian weight and number of corpora lutea, and in blood testosterone and progesterone; there was an increase in the dopamine level of the anterior hypothalamus.

  2. 2.

    Clomiphene administration for 5 days to androgen-sterile rats, particularly to rats given earlier 10 μ TP, Ied to a normalization of these indices and to the onset of ovulation.

  3. 3.

    Short-term clomiphene administration to androgen-sterile rats (5 days), as well as prolonged administration (1 month), restored the capacity for pregnancy.
