Summary

  1. 1.

The configuration at the 17a position of two pairs of epimeric tertiary alcohols of the D-homosteroid series was determined by means of fragmentation mass Spectrometry.

  2. 2.

The fragmentation with cleavage of ring D is characteristic for this class of compounds; the intensity of the peak corresponding to the fragment with the greater mass depends on the spatial configuration of the epimer molecule.
