Synthesis of diacetylenic alcohols, glycols, and their derivatives on the basis of diacetylene

Summary

A one-step synthesis of primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohols and glycols as well as their selective hydrogenation to the corresponding diene derivatives was found possible based on diacetylene and carbonyl compounds.
