Summary
-
1.
From the corresponding α,ω-bis-1-boracycloalkylalkanes and boron trichloride 1-chloroborolane, 1-chloro-borinane, and 1-chloroborepane were synthesized.
-
2.
When the compounds Cl2B(CH2)n BCr2, (n=4, 5, 6) are heated, cyclization occurs with the elimination of boron trichloride and the formation of the corresponding 1-chloroboracycloalkanes.
-
3.
In the cyclization of Cr2B(CH2)3 BCr2 a four-membered ring is not formed, but 1,5-dichloro-1,5-diborocane is obtained.
-
4.
Under the action of boron trichloride in presence of a tetraalkyldiborane α,ω-bis-l-boracycloalkylalkanes are converetd smoothly into the corresponding α,ω-bisdichloroborylalkanes.
