Conclusions

  1. 1.

A study has been made of the sign and magnitude of the exchange interaction integrals (J) for the radical pairs C6H5NH.CH S3 and C6H5NH.CH2C6H S5 in the thermolysis of methyl- and benzylphenyltriazenes. Positive J values are shown to indicate radical absorption in the radical pair.

  2. 2.

The radical pair incorporating the phenyl radical is shown to be the site of the1H CPN effects observed in the thermolysis of 1,3-diphenyltriazene and triphenyltriazene.
