  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Study has been made of the effect of adding iron, copper, nickel, and vanadium oxides to cobalt molybdate catalysts used for oxidizing propylene to acrolein and acrylic acid, and acrolein to acrylic acid.

  2. 2.

The structure, Mo-O bond type, and solid body electron transfer resulting from reaction component adsorption are the principal factors determining the activity and selectivity of propylene oxidation to acrolein on modified cobalt molybdate catalysts.
