Summary
-
1.
Investigation of the polycondensation of 1,6-hexanediamine adipate and of 1,6-hexanediamine azelaate showed that the changes in rate of polyamide formation and in rise of molecular weight are identical in character in both cases at a given temperature and concentration of reactants.

2.
It was found that the polycondensation of 1,6-hexanediamine salts of dicarboxylic acids proceeds as a second-order reaction. Activation energies were determined for these processes.
