Summary

  1. 1.

Polyesters formed by p-benzenediacetic and cis− and trans-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acids with glycols of various structures are described.

  2. 2.

The effects on the properties of the polyesters of the structure of the glycol, cis-trails-isomerism in the acid, the displacement of the carboxy groups away from the aromatic nucleus, and the replacement in the acid of an aromatic nucleus by an alicyclic nucleus are discussed.
