Summary
The program package “TITDAT”, written in FORTRAN IV for small computers allows the interpretation of measuring data of all kinds of titrations for determining the equivalence point. No detailed knowledge about the shape of the titration curve and the range of values is necessary before the begin of titrations. It must only be presupposed, that an adequate number of pairs of equilibrium measuring values (volume — indication size) is stored during the titrations.
Options of the program are: data corrections, curve smoothings, calculation of inflection points, searching of straight lines and calculation of intersection points of extrapolated straight branches, simulation of end-point titrations, graphics of original and smoothed titration curves or curve series, their derivatives and regression straight lines of quasi-linear curve parts, protocol output and statistic interpretation of results.
The program includes two modes: During the set-up mode in dialogue with the terminal the program control parameters and the computing parameters are well suited to the actual shape of the curve and stored. In the routine mode the whole titration series is automatically interpreted with the parameters, fixed during the set-up mode.
TITDAT distinguishes from other programs, included in commercial titration devices, by its high flexibility to the actual analytical task, and therefore it always guarantees optimum precision and excludes systematic errors extensively.
