Communication 85. Polycondensation of 1,2-dichloroethane with o-dichlorobenezene dichlorobenezene

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A study was made of the polycondensatlon of 1, 2-dichloroethane with o-dichlorobenzene and due principal laws governing the process were established.

  2. 2.

It was found that. when the catalyst concentration is low, o-dichhxobentene behaves as a bifunctional compound in spite of the fact that its potential functionality is font.

  3. 3.

The structure of the polycondensation products formed from 1,2-dichloroethane and o-dichlorobenzene was determined.

  4. 4.

It was found that treatment of 1. 2-dichloroethane with aluminum chloride resulted in the formation of poly[ethylenephenyl].
