Communication 83. Synthesis of polyalkylenecycloalkyls

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

It was found that the hydrogenation of polyalkylenearyls in presence of Raney nickel results in the formation of polyalkylenecycloalkyls-polymers of a new type, the chains of which contain cycloalkane and alkane residues.

  2. 2.

It was shown that the hydrogenation of polyalkylenearyls is accompanied by a considerable weakening of their color.

  3. 3.

Suggestions are made concerning the source of the color of polyalkylenearyls and the causes of its weakening as a result of hydrogenation.
