Summary
-
1.
The action of sodium on 2.2-dichlorovinyl derivatives was studied, and it was shown that monosubstituted acetylenes were formed in 60–80% yielu in most of the cases investigated.
-
2.
A mechanism is proposed for the conversion of a CCI2 = CH group into an HC = C group by the action of sodium.
