Summary
-
1.
A study has been made of the reactions of cyclohexene 4-methylcyclohexene, and 1-octene in presence of activated Troshkov clay at 450 °.
-
2.
It has been found that the catalytic treatment leads to redistribution of hydrogen with formation of aromatic and unsaturated hydrocarbons at the same time partial isomerization of the cyclohexenes occurs with contraction of the ring to give five-membered cycles.
-
3.
It has been established that the formation of aromatic hydrocarbons from cyclohexenes is accompanied by alkylation reaction.
-
4.
It has been shown that under the conditions used 1-octene undergoes dehydrocyclization with formation of aromatic h hydrocarbon.
-
5.
Under the conditions investigated cyclohexene, 4-methylcyclohexene, and 1-octene undergo partial cracking, and some of the decomposition products of octene undergo isomerization.
