Abstract

A rapid nontoxic process of nitriding molds and parts of glass-shaping automatic machines is considered. The process is based on a new nitriding medium, i.e., nitrous oxide, obtained by the action of silicon nitride on Na2O · 3SiO2 silicate. The efficiency of the nitriding process is shown.
