Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

It has been shown that in solution of cis- and trans-dichlorodiamineplatinums the presence of ultraviolet radiation leads to the formation of polynuclear compounds of bi- and quadri-valent platinum having hydroxyl bridges.

  2. 2.

The active frequencies correspond to the absorption band of these compounds having a maximum at 2730 A.
