Wave propagation in fluid-filled elastic tubes

Summary

A system of equations descriptive of wave propagation in fluid-filled elastic tubes is examined with a view to achieving its reduction to a canonical form associated with the conventional wave equation. Two specific solutions are displayed and these are then used to consider a specific boundary value problem.

Zusammenfassung

Ein die Wellenausbreitung in elastischen Rohren beschreibendes Gleichungssystem wird dahingehend untersucht, um es auf eine mit der klassischen Wellengleichung verknüpfte kanonische Form zu reduzieren. Zwei spezielle Lösungen werden angegeben und diese dann bei der Untersuchung eines speziellen Randwertproblems verwendet.
