Summary
-
1.
The alumina regions of the ternary systems FeO-Al2O3-SiO2 and MnO-Al2O3 SiO2 were studied.
-
2.
The position of the boundary between the mullite and corundum fields is in accord with the position of the eutectic point which we found previously in the alumina-silica system.
-
3.
A correction was made in the phase diagram of the system FeO-Al2O3. Hercynite FeO · Al2O3 melts without decomposition — not with decomposition, as was thought previously.
