Summary
-
1.
The reaction of ethylene oxide with the following trialkyl(or aryl)chlorosilances has been investigated: chlorotrimethyl-, chloroethyldimethyl-, chlorodiethylmethyl-, chlorotriethyl-, and chlorodiethylphyenyl-silances.
-
2.
The following compounds have been prepared for the first time and characterized: (2-chloroethoxy)-triethyl-, and (2-chloroethoxy)diethylphenyl-silanes.
-
3.
The proposed method is probably general for the preparation of various trialkyl(or arly) (2-haloethoxy) silanes from ethylene oxide and trialkyl(or aryl)chlorosilanes).
