Summary
-
1.
By the decomposition of benzenediazonium fluoborate in a nitrile medium (benzonitrile, p- and o-tolunitriles, phenylacetonitrile, acetonitrile, propionitrile, and acrylonitrile), the corresponding anilides have been obtained in yields of up to 40%.

2.
The occurrence of this reaction provides confirmation of the heterolytic character of the decomposition of benzenediazonium fluoborate.
