Summary
-
1.
The ethyl, isopropyl, isobutyl, and butyl 1,1-dimethyl-2-propynyl acetals of acetaldehyde have been prepared. The last has been described in the Wenture, but the first three are now synthesized for the first time.
-
2.
The possibility of synthesizing the symmetrical acetylenic acetal
has been demonstrated for the first time.
-
3.
The structures of the acetals obtained have been proved by hydrolytic breakdown into their components.
-
4.
The disproportionation of unsymmetrical acetylenic acetals has been demonstrated for the first time.
