By reaction of alkyl 2-chlorovinyl ketones with secondary amines in aqueous medium, alkyl 2-dialkyl-aminovinyl ketones are formed in 60–85% yield. This reaction appears to be the most convenient method for the preparation of compounds of this type. that their molecules have considerable polarity.
