Abstract

It is shown that a porous glass ceramic material fabricated by sintering a devitrified glass powder from the alkali-free SiO2, - TiO2 - Al2O3 - CaO - BaO system can be used for soot traps with a cleaning efficiency of about 98%. The trap regenerates easily when heated to 450 – 500°C, fully recovering its filtering capacity
