Conclusions
-
1.
Cold deformation of an alloy of zirconium with 2.5% niobium leads to a fall in the coefficient of linear expansion, particularly above 400°C.
-
2.
Annealing in the α-range (400–560°C) after cold deformation leads to an increase in the coefficient of linear expansion of the alloy, but its absolute value remains lower than after annealing in the α+β-region at all the investigated temperatures.
-
3.
The character of the changes in the true coefficient of linear expansion of the cold-deformed alloy during annealing in the α-region (400–560°C) indicates that structural changes occur.
