Abstract

An air pressure vascular clamp was developed for vascular surgery. On 90 rats, 172 vascular injury experiments and 37 vascular anastomoses experiments were done to compare this clamp with two other vascular clamps commonly used clinically. Using light and electron microscopic examinations, it was found that the air pressure vascular clamp was superior. Satisfactory results have been obtained in clinical applications on 43 patients with 119 vascular anastomoses.
