Abstract
In the production of a low-carbon steel casting, Widmanstätten ferrite is quite justifiably treated as a metastable phase responsible for the low plasticity of be cast metal. At the same time, the changes of other structural components in the formation of Widmanstätten ferrite have been studied inadequately. The present work is devoted to this problem.
