Conclusions

  1. 1.

We have prepared the first perfluorinated sultine and sulfoxylate ester by the photochemical reaction of hexafluorobutadiene and SO2.

  2. 2.

The sultine isomerizes to the sulfoxylate ester.

  3. 3.

The perfluorinated sultine and sulfoxylate ester readily decompose to form a mixture of difluoromaleyl difluoride and difluorofumaryl difluoride.
