Synthesis of unsaturated methyl-substitutedω-dimethylamino carbonyl compounds

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    We have synthesized an acetal aminal ofα-methyl-β-dimethylaminoacrolein and examined its reactions with acetone andβ-dimethylaminovinyl methyl ketone. We have prepared unsaturatedω-bis(dimethylamino) ketones containing aγ-CH3 group.

  2. 2.

    By the reaction of the acetal aminal ofα-methyl-β-dimethylaminoacrolein with methyl acetoacetate we have prepared the first representative of an unsaturated aminocarbonyl compound of which both valence isomers can be detected: the compound exists in the dienic form in water and as theα-pyran form in anhydrous solvents and in the absence of solvent.
