Conclusions

  1. 1.

The ESR signal, with a g-factor of 1.938 and a line width of about 100 Oe, which arises in aqueous chloride solutions of titanium(III) at room temperature belongs to a monohydroxo complex of trivalent titanium in equilibrium with the hexaaquo complex.

  2. 2.

The authors have used ESR to determine the equilibrium constant of the hydrolysis of titanium(III).

  3. 3.

They have also determined the kinetic characteristics of the hydrolysis of titanium(III).
