Abstract

The UZSP-1 polymer quenching medium is a very efficient domestic substitute for quenching oils. The stability of the properties of water-based polymer quenching media depends largely on the molecular weight characteristics of the polymer component. The molecular weight of the polymer affects the viscosity of the polymer concentrate used for preparing the quenching medium. The present work is devoted to investigation of the effect of the viscosity of the initial UZSP-1 concentrate on the quenching capacity of aqueous solutions with different polymer contents.
