Abstract
Obtaining requisite structural conditions of steels after heat treatment is associated with certain technological problems. An important problem that has been studied in recent years is the replacement of petroleum quenching oils by more ecologically safe media. Intense research in this direction is carried out in Russia and foreign countries, However, despite the wide range of recently devised quenching media, the problem is still far from being solved, at least for the quenching of parts from high-carbon bearing steels. The present work is devoted to some water-based quenching media and devices for cooling parts of bearings.
