Summary
-
1.
The dissociation of aluminum chloride etherate in chloroform solution has been studied by i.r. spectroscopy.
-
2.
During the interaction of an acid chloride with AlCl3 etherate the ether is displaced and a complex is formed between the aluminum chloride and the acid chloride, and this is an intermediate compound in the acylation process.
