Abstract
A method for assessing the effect of the relative humidity on an important index of flax-containing cloth which characterizes the stability of their shape, their creasability, was improved. It was found that creasing of pure flax samples with maximum atmospheric humidity (ϕ=98%) increases their ability to recover the initial shape in comparison to tests in normal conditions (ϕ=65%). The kinetics of the recovery angle of the sample after bending with compression are described by an exponential equation which can be used to predict the behavior of cloth after creasing in time. The calculated coefficients of the equation can be used to predict the relaxation processes of recovery of the cloth after creasing.
