Abstract
The sexual adjustment of ten individuals was measured before, and both four months, and four years, after coronary bypass surgery. Test variables were subject to an analysis of variance. Patients showed a significant improvement in their physical condition after surgery (both at four months and four years) as measured by the New York Heart Association Functional Classification (p.<.01). However, sexual adjustment didnot improve as measured by the Structured and Scaled Interview to Measure Maladjustment. Sexual counseling was suggested.
