Electrochemical generation of anion radicals of nitroso and nitro compounds from substituted 2,6-dinitroanisoles

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Conclusions

In the electrochemical reduction of 2,6-dinitro-4R-anisole (R = COO, OCH3, H, Cl) in DMSO-CH3OH, the formation of anion radicals of the initial anisoles and AR of the corresponding 2-nitroso-4R-6-nitroanisoles was demonstrated. The structure was established, and a mechanism was proposed for the formation of anion radicals of these nitroso compounds.
