Conclusions

  1. 1.

By an investigation of the catalytic properties and IR spectra of samples subjected to various treatment, it was established that bifunctional catalysts, effective in the synthesis of secondary butylbenzene from benzene and ethylene, are formed from the system nickel acetylacetonate — CaY zeolite in the process of heat treatment in an oxidizing medium (O2, air) at the temperatures 400–500°.

  2. 2.

The dimerization of ethylene proceeds with the participation of nickel ions, arising in the interaction of NiO, formed from Ni acetylacetonate, with the proton acid centers of the zeolite.
