Abstract
The transformation of the light-beam tensor due to Rayleigh scattering, due to the volume element of a luminescent substance (a luminescent crystal), and Fresnel optical reflection and refraction is considered. It is shown that the suggested covariant method leads more rapidly and more simply to the desired results than the Stokes parameters.
