Abstract

The mathematical formulation of the problem of nonsteady-state heat transfer in active laser crystals is considered. The variation method is used to obtain an approximate solution of the problem. The solution relates the basic laser characteristics (the dimensions and thermophysical characteristics of the crystal and the frequency and energy of the pumping pulses) in a form convenient for engineering computations.
