Symmetry properties of the lattice vibrations of cadmium diarsenide crystals

Abstract

The symmetry of the normal vibrations of crystals with the CdAs2 lattice is established. Selection rules are derived for the infrared absorption and Raman scattering of light; also derived are the selection rules for the inelastic scattering of slow neutrons.
