Disposition of roots of the dispersion equation of a waveguide periodically inhomogeneous according to depth

Abstract

The formation of transmission zones for the normal modes in a waveguide periodically inhomogeneous according to depth, is considered. It is shown that the existence of the normal modes in the indicated waveguide are determined similarly to the transmission domain for volume waves in periodic structures.
