Convective instability of a current-carrying conductive liquid in a long channel with an external magnetic field

Abstract

The stability of equilibrium of an electrically conductive liquid in a long channel in the presence of electric and magnetic fields is considered, under the condition that there exist gradients in temperature and liquid conductivity along the channel.
