Abstract
The stability of axisymmetric shapes of equilibrium of a capillary fluid between two horizontal plates is investigated. It is shown that stability is lost with respect to axisymmetric perturbations. The boundaries of the stability region are calculated in the case when the wetting angles on the lower and upper plates are the same.
