Summary

Equations were derived for calculating the amounts of cation-exchange or anion-exchange resin needed as precipitants in order to purify a solution to a given degree of purity. Based on an analysis of the obtained equations it was shown that it is expedient to use a cation-exchange resin for an efficient purification of the solution.
