Summary

  1. 1.

    The kinetics of the hydrogenation of 12,13,14,15-tetrahydro-12,15-dioxo-13,14; 9,10-(9′,10′)-dihydroanthrylene)triptycene [1] on 1% Pd on charcoal was investigated in dioxane medium at atmospheric pressure.

  2. 2.

    The dependence of the reaction rate on the initial concentration of (I), the amount of the catalyst, and the reaction temperature (25–60°) was found.

  3. 3.

    The activation energy, equal to 7.7 kcal/mole, was determined from the temperature dependence of the reaction rate constant.
