Conclusions

  1. 1.

The kinetic principles of the oxidation of glyceraldehyde in aqueous solution were discussed.

  2. 2.

The accelerating action of a catalyst (copper acetate) and the inhibiting effect of inhibitors of free radical processes on the oxidation of glyceraldehyde in aqueous solution were detected, indicating a chain character of this reaction.

  3. 3.

Chemiluminescence is observed in aqueous solutions of glyceraldehyde in the presence of oxygen. The rate of generation of chains and the length of the chain, equal to three units, were determined by chemiluminescent methods.
