VUV spectra from the krypton-fluoride ionic excimer

Abstract

New continuous VUV radiation near 148 nm was observed from Kr/NF3/He and Kr/F2/He mixtures under X-ray excitation from a laser-produced plasma. Theoretical and experimental analysis shows that the continuum can be attributed to the transition of the ionic excimer Kr2+F.
