Abstract

The State of Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) provides leadership in the development of experiential education programs to many of over 200 degree granting institutions of higher education in the state. The development of this movement, the processes, past and present, and the impact of these leadership efforts are considered in this article. Special programs are also summarized as well as the roles of facilitation and consultation provided by the Office of Special Programs of PDE.
