Abstract
Soviet psychotherapy follows Western European traditional pre-psychoanalytical “rationalistic” methodology. On the other hand, Soviet therapists assign great importance to clinical diagnosis within the framework of the classical scheme of Kraepelin. Finally, methods close to behavior therapy, especially so-called “training” approaches, are popular.
